R. Dean Scott  |

Dean began his professional career with Drake/Pattillo & Associates, Architects, Inc. in Jacksonville.  He worked for the firm during the summers of 1987 and 1988 while in graduate school and was retained as a full time employee in 1989.  Dean was elected Vice President of Drake/Pattillo in 1994 and President in 2000.  The firm changed its name to R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. in 2006.  Dean currently serves as President of the firm.  He has a breadth of experience in educational facility design, ecclesiastical design, primary care and urgent care facilities, military facilities, corporate offices, retail establishments and food service facilities.  Dean often consults with banks and lending institutions regarding their construction loan processes.  He has reviewed over $350,000,000 of construction projects for lenders.

Dean earned his Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida in 1987 and his Master of Architecture from the University of Florida in 1992.  He has been licensed as an Architect in the State of Florida since 1994.

A member of the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville since 1998, Dean is consistently involved in community service efforts.  Pastimes include tennis, golf, boating and travel.

Stacy worked with R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. during graduate school and has been a full-time employee since June 2017. In 2019, she earned her initial architect license in the state of Florida. Stacy was elected vice president of the firm in October of 2024. .

Stacy received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2012. She served as a teacher in West Africa with the Peace Corps from 2013 to 2014. Upon her return to the United States, she graduated with a Master of Architecture from Clemson University in 2017. Stacy coordinates and manages all aspects of projects from schematic design through the construction phase. Included in this is a deep understand of the Florida Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention Code. She is well versed with Building Information modeling (BIM) and design visualization. 

Outside of the office, Stacy enjoys traveling and making memories with family. She is a Florida native and loves the multitude of experiences the state offers.

Eunice D. Cineus  |
GRADUATE ARCHITECT / DESIGNER

Eunice began working with R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. in December 2024. Prior to joining the firm, Eunice received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Design Studies, as well as her Master of Architecture from Howard University.

Eunice completed her thesis on culture-based tourism. She studied the relationship between architecture, nature, society, and culture, and how together they can foster novel interactions between visitors and native inhabitants. While studying in Washington, DC, she worked as a Design and Construction Technology intern. There she cultivated her skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM), project visualization, as well as automation and scripting.

GRADUATE ARCHITECT / DESIGNER

Michael began working with R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. in May 2024. Prior to joining the firm, Michael received his Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando.

While studying in Orlando, Michael worked part-time at the Walt Disney World Resort piloting and crewing watercraft at the Magic Kingdom. At Disney, Michael honed his hospitality skills, guided large groups and observed how the built environment can impact behaviors, experiences, management and operations.

After graduating from UCF, Michael returned to his hometown of Jacksonville to join the University of Florida’s JaxLab program and pursue a Master of Architecture degree.  His current studies include architectural design, research methods and artificial intelligence/machine learning.

Alicia D. Olah  |
OFFICE MANAGER

Alicia started her journey with R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. in 2009 as an administrative assistant and was promoted to Office Manager in 2012.  In this role, she ensures that office services and operations are organized and run smoothly.  Alicia prepares payroll, processes accounts receivable and accounts payable, drafts financial reports and correspondence and manages firm data and archives.

Alicia graduated in 2002 from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  As she worked for Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virgina, her hometown, she earned her Master of Strategic Leadership in 2005.  Her dream of residing in Florida came true in August of 2006. 

Alicia is fond of spending time with family, friends and her church community.  She takes joy in cooking and nutrition, fitness and the outdoors, camping, travel, art, beach activities and paddle boarding.

History of the Firm

Gordon + Drake, Architects was formed in February of 1958 when H. Lamar Drake joined the practice of W. Stanly Gordon, AIA. In 1963, Charles E. (Pat) Pattillo, III joined the practice. The firm was known as Gordon, Drake & Pattillo, Architects from 1963 to 1969. In 1969, after the resignation of Stan Gordon, the firm became Drake/Pattillo & Associates, Architects. The firm incorporated in 1975 and continued under the name Drake/Pattillo & Associates, Architects, Inc. until December 31, 2005. On January 1, 2006, the firm changed its name to R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc.

Lamar Drake retired from the firm in 2005. He most recently served as vice president and shareholder. Pat Pattillo retired from the firm in 1994. R. Dean Scott, AIA assumed Pat Pattillo’s role as vice president in 1994, became a shareholder in 1997 and president in 2000.

Career Opportunities

R. Dean Scott, Architect, Inc. is a full service architecture firm located in downtown Jacksonville. Our practice emphasis is in commercial, ecclesiastical and educational facility design.

RDSA is fully staffed at present. However, staffing conditions occasionally change. We invite qualified architecture students, recent graduates, intern architects, licensed architects and similar professionals with an interest in our work to submit their qualifications for review.
